Mid-Calf
Maxi is the summer staple this year, but isn't that the case every year? Now, I'm not one to shy away from the maxi, as in my previous post I have already dipped into the pool of maxi and there's no dening the benefits of an item of clothing that can hide a multitude of sins but the time is coming to move to a new length. A new length! Yes, thats right, a new length, one that sits mid-calf - not for the cankle brigade I'm afraid, but for the more delicate of ankles this length is fabulous. Chic, elegant and no chance of tripping up. Feel like Audrey Hepburn skipping along.

H&M Fashion Against Aids
Let me tell you, I don't need an excuse to partake in a spot of shopping at the best of times but when proceeds from the purchase are donated to charity, there's no stopping me. Hence my love of H&M. H&M has always been my favourite shopping haven - its cheap, caters to many levels of fashion and has the little super trendy section that, in my opinion, far outways anything Topshop do.So, when I popped in there the other day and found their Fashion Against Aids collection I was over the moon. With a quarter of the very reasonable prices going to charity, the edgy designs seemed too
good to be true. Oh well, there's not point fighting my addication, so I opted for a very Rock and Roll(Kate Moss would love it - although I'm not sure if that's a good thing anymore) style fringe top & a fab maxi dress-perfect with my mumsy shoes.

MUMSY SHOES
There is something about mumsy shoes that I love, to pull off a good mumsy shoe and avoid frumpton town you'll either need to be wearing something short, tight or low cut, preferably while in a drunken stuper.
These Clarks sandals are perfect for mum chic. As are the H&M espradrilles below - wear with tight leather.

LADY JUKES MINI CLUTCHES
Have been very busy the last few days making lots of my leather mini clutches/purses/make-up bags (the choice is yours!) for the fabulous Rappie Pie. Rappie Pie is a very cute shop in Vivian Street, Harborne (near Waitrose). I've lined them with the vintage prints I picked up last week and a few of them have the adorable kiddie lining.

COMBAT CHIC
COMBAT - the perfect accompaniment/alternative to the S/S10 pastels and a must to overide anything too girly..I've teamed my jacket with smart shorts and a GAGA t-shirt. The second look smartened up by waisting it with a skinny tan belt and teamed with patch jeans. I picked up this military beauty at the Birmingham RAG Market for a fiver! Search out the ex-military stall, where you can get all sorts of great stuff, including high waist army trousers which look fab belted with a vest. Lady Jukes Combat carriers coming soon...

A trip to see Jean Dubberly
Jean is one of my sources for my vintage fabrics, buttons and anything else she can sell me while I'm there. This time I bought some amazing vintage african inspired print fabric, a tin of old buttons and a couple of bow ties - you never know when you might need one.
I also paid a visit to the Rag Market in Birmingham - one of my favourite places to go. Its full of old characters and interesting finds. I got some hardware for my bags and some delicious kids fabric - groove is in the heart...
